Book Review | The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

Phew, finally managed to finish the book. One hard reason behind my eagernes both in buying and finished this book is because the author herself is my fave author. Havent you heard that Robert Galbraith is actually pseudonym of J.K Rowling?

Pufft! Here you go, mind blowing stories of investigation series. (I must assure you that this is free-spoiler review so please enjoy).

This novel start with a recent suicidal case of a well known supermodel where her brother does not believe his sister commit suicide at all. So he then seeks help of Cormoran Strike to investigate the real killer.

Half of the part in this series is about how Strike investigate all the witness and victim's friends and conclude the investigation in the end.

A brilliant mystery in a classic vein: Detective Cormoran Strike investigates a supermodel's suicide. After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Strike is down to one client, and creditors are calling. He has also just broken up with his longtime girlfriend and is living in his office.
Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: His sister, thelegendary supermodel Lula Landry, known to her friends as the Cuckoo, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.
You may think you know detectives, but you've never met one quite like Strike. You may think you know about the wealthy and famous, but you've never seen them under an investigation like this.

Strike I must said, a very genuine character that find humor in his darkness side. He had this charisma thingy and that leader value where you just trust his prediction and go with the flow. Its hard to object what he said cause sooner or later it will all makes sense. Very experience person I must said, but you know, life is harsh even for a talented yet experience person.

Another character which I like in this novel is Strike's temporary secretary, Robin which actually just need to stay for a week but for the sake of helping Strike investigation, sympathetic and curiosity she's been dragging herself voluntarily into the case. And she is just one superb girl, innocent, daring and love to challenge herself make me wanna cherish her charm out loud 'u go girl!'. I've been so naughty enough to imagine that Strike and Robin actually gonna be together, but Robin were engage to Matthew tho. But who knows? Lols.

The real killer behind all those investigation was totally mind blowing, I totally doesnt see it comes. Its totally unpredictable to my armature sherlock holmes mind. The book got me at its end and of course by Robin, and also Strike, a bit (joking, I love Strike).

Overall, I really enjoy the plot twist thingy and looking forward to read other series (I brought another two today).

I'll be giving ★★★★☆.

Therefore, I does not have any objection on how entertain this book was. Highly and deeply immersed in the plot tho.
